From Homewood Student Affairs:
Supervisors provide far more than basic training. They serve as mentors who build skills and advance technical knowledge, they support student career aspirations and foster professionalism, and they serve as positive role models for their student employees. In short, supervisors play a vital role in a student’s overall educational experience.
Each year, the university offers students the opportunity to say thank-you to their supervisors by nominating them for the JHU Supervisor of the Year Award. This prestigious award is given to an outstanding supervisor who has made a significant contribution to their student staff by demonstrating Extraordinary Leadership, Professionalism, and Guidance.
The competition is open to all JHU faculty and staff who supervise students.
The winner receives a commemorative gift, a certificate of recognition, and lunch/dinner for two at a local restaurant. In addition, the campus winner is entered in the state and regional competition. The winner of the regional competition goes on to compete for the national title.
All nominees are recognized at the annual JHU Student Employment Awards Ceremony in April during National Student Employment Week.
We invite you to view the list of previous winners.
Another highlight of National Student Employment Week at Hopkins is the naming of the JHU Student Employee of the Year.
