Isadora (Issy) Dellheim passed away at the age of 93 on August 5, 2024. She and her husband Arthur have been staunch friends of the department since the 1980’s. For many years, they have supported our archaeological fieldwork in Syria and Iraq as well as the Johns Hopkins archaeological program (including student travel support). Issy and Arthur regularly attended department lectures and functions, and they often hosted mini-soirees at their house where the results of our archaeological fieldwork could be discussed in a relaxed setting.
Issy Dellheim was elegant, yet unpretentious, with a delicious sense of humor and a warm, affectionate personality. She will be greatly missed.
