Jacob Lauinger, Associate Professor of Assyriology in the Department of Near Eastern Studies, and Zeynep Türker, a PhD student in Assyriology, were recently featured in articles by CNN and Forbes discussing the discovery of an ancient cuneiform tablet from the site of Alalakh. The tablet was discovered during restoration work after last year’s devastating earthquakes in the region. Lauinger also shared his insights in an NPR interview where he discusses its possible function as an ancient furniture order. Türker will be the lead author of the forthcoming publication of the tablet.
